Lottery bosses hunt Tameside's missing millionaire, whose unclaimed £1m ticket has just two months left before it expires

A National Lottery ticket like the one bought in Tameside could be worth £1 million, with Andy Carter warning its owner has until 28 December to claim.
A National Lottery ticket like the one bought in Tameside could be worth £1 million, with Andy Carter warning its owner has until 28 December to claim.

The winning ticket — numbers 5, 8, 26, 33, 39, 42, bonus ball 54 — was bought in Tameside, Greater Manchester, on 1 July, but the holder has not come forward in nearly four months. Andy Carter of lottery operator Allwyn says he has 'searched high and low across Tameside' with no success, and the prize will vanish at midnight on 28 December if unclaimed. The ticket could be anywhere: in a coat pocket, a drawer, or a bin.

Tameside covers Ashton-under-Lyne, Hyde, Stalybridge and five other towns — anyone who bought a Lotto ticket there on 1 July should check now.

The National Lottery is also chasing a separate unclaimed £12m prize from a ticket bought in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, in June.

Kath Main, 46, claimed the Welsh jackpot was hers but had been thrown away after a Londis store wrongly told her it was not a winner.
