Navy Moores, a three-year-old from Kendal, Cumbria, has beaten a record previously held by a child aged four years and ten months by completing all 214 Wainwright fells in just five months. He walked every summit himself, covering 510 miles and climbing the equivalent of more than seven Everests. His father Daniel, an Everest summiteer himself, hiked every step alongside Navy, as did mother Leanne Helm, six-year-old brother Oliver and teenage sister Jessica.
Navy sealed the challenge on Scafell Pike in rain and cloud, then celebrated not with Kendal mint cake but a McDonald's at the children's request.
His father Daniel said: 'Navy is aware of what he's done, but I don't think he realises what he has actually achieved because hikes have become so normal for us.'
The day after finishing, Navy asked his parents whether they were going hiking again.
