Nearly 159 million Brazilians will vote today as jailed ex-president's son Flávio Bolsonaro tries to oust Lula, 80

Flávio Bolsonaro, 45, won the first round earlier this month by 47% to 45%. No first-round loser has come back to win since democracy returned to Brazil in the 1980s. Polls now show the two men about even, and more than a million Lula supporters filled Copacabana beach on Saturday. Flávio's father Jair is serving 27 years for plotting a coup after losing in 2022.

From his cramped prison cell, Jair Bolsonaro blessed his son's bid: 'Let's go, it's you.'

The Trump administration has signalled its support by labelling Brazilian gangs as terror groups.

In the final debate, Bolsonaro apologised after saying Lula 'takes away with nine fingers.'
