Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly begged Donald Trump for a joint attack on Iran before polling day, but Trump did not give a green light. Channel 12 reported that Netanyahu clashed with army chief Lt Gen Eyal Zamir over a directive that could spark war with Iran. Netanyahu's office called the reports 'fake news'. He also posted an AI image of a nuclear blast destroying Tel Aviv.

Final polls put Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar on 22 seats and Likud on 20, so neither bloc reaches 61.

Trump has endorsed Netanyahu as a 'great warrior' in the fight against Iran.

Garry Kasparov urged Russian-Israelis: 'Just vote against Bibi Netanyahu, period.'
