Netanyahu reportedly orders diplomats to back Argentina on the Falklands in retaliation for UK sanctions, but Israel denies it

Israel's UN ambassador Danny Danon called for direct talks over the islands last month. He said Israel 'recognizes the importance that the Argentine public attaches to this issue.' That wording was reportedly approved 'at the highest ranks of the Israeli government.' The move is reportedly linked to Benjamin Netanyahu's close ties with Argentine President Javier Milei and to Britain's sanctions on West Bank settlements.
Israeli embassy spokesman Alex Gandler said: 'No such directive exists.'
Israel responded to the settlement sanctions by expelling most staff from Britain's Jerusalem consulate.
Itamar Ben-Gvir urged Netanyahu last month to recognise Argentine sovereignty and sanction Britain.
