Netanyahu vows to go house to house and demolish homes in Hebron after Palestinian gunmen kill two Israeli soldiers
Staff Sergeant Ron Yonatan Roytman, 23, and Sergeant Yuval Shai Svilem, 20, died in a gunfight lasting more than 20 minutes at a checkpoint near Hebron's Yehuda Junction. The army said the two attackers, both from Hebron and later shot dead, had been aiming for civilians on Route 35. Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered troops to cordon off the city of more than 200,000. Israelis vote on Tuesday.
Bulldozers have already begun demolishing homes near the shooting site in Hebron.
Netanyahu claims Hamas was 'planning a major attack aimed at murdering innocent civilians'.
Netanyahu said the attack aimed to sway Tuesday's election, where Gadi Eisenkot challenges him.
