Filming on The Inbetweeners 3 is well underway, and new set photos suggest Simon Cooper remains as unfortunate as ever — pictured running from his house in his underwear while a jealous love rival brandishes a golf club at him. Viewers who spotted the images online have questioned why the characters, now somewhere between their late thirties and early forties, appear virtually unchanged in looks and dress from their teenage years. A pregnant Tara — Simon's ex — also features in the photos, prompting fan speculation that some scenes may be set in the past.

Some fans worry that watching the boys behave like teenagers well into their forties could damage the film, with one Reddit user writing 'I really don't want these guys to act the same way in their 40s.'

Others are more forgiving, suggesting the intention may be that 'they got older but never grew up', with the film potentially exploring themes of maturity and personal growth.

The pregnant Tara subplot has generated the most curiosity, with fans theorising it could account for why Simon's hair is still gelled up like he's about to sit his GCSEs.
