Pramod Poudel, 34, from Uckfield, East Sussex, boarded a flight to Nepal on Friday after losing contact with his 25-year-old wife Sumitra, his mother, brother and uncle, when floodwaters obliterated their village of Sole. Sumitra's final message reached him on Wednesday at 4.15pm — just hours before a glacial collapse sent a wall of water and mud surging across the Nepal-Tibet border. The death toll has now passed 700, with more than 2,400 still missing in Nepal alone and a further 546 unaccounted for in Tibet. In total, 48 British nationals are missing, including two teenagers.
