NHS mental health trust apologises after mother whose psychotic state was diagnosed as 'stress' killed her three children
Yasmeen Ali, 44, stabbed Fares, seven, Joury, three, and baby Mohammed, nine months, at their Sea Mills home in Bristol in February 2024. Charged with murder, she admitted manslaughter by diminished responsibility at Bristol Crown Court. Mr Justice Linden gave her an indefinite hospital order. Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust sent a letter apologising for 'failings in the care'.
Ali dialled 999 after the attacks and told police she was 'going to God'.
The children's father, Alfil Bash, left the courtroom as their injuries were read out.
The judge said: 'You would not have done what you have if you were well.'
