Nick Clegg owns just over 917,000 shares in Nscale, a UK-based data centre firm that filed US listing documents on 18 September and is targeting a New York Stock Exchange debut before the year is out. The former Liberal Democrat leader and deputy prime minister sits on Nscale's board alongside ex-Meta executive Sheryl Sandberg, who stands to make up to $88m from the same float. Nscale is seeking a valuation of as much as $35bn, compared with $14.6bn at its last funding round, which would put Clegg's stake at somewhere between $18m and $42m.
Clegg has already netted around £24m from selling shares in Meta, where he served as president of global affairs before joining Nscale's board.
Sandberg's 0.25% stake dwarfs Clegg's 0.12%, reflecting the former Meta COO's larger position in the firm; both receive an annual retainer of $60,000.
Nscale posted a $1bn loss in the six months to June, casting doubt on its ambitious valuation ahead of the planned New York debut.
