Nick Reiner rocks in his chair in court as a judge delays ruling on unsealing evidence in parents' murder case

Judge Sam Ohta noted that Nick Reiner, 33, had been 'indicted unbeknownst to his counsel' and gave the defence until January 13 to submit its arguments. His siblings Jake and Romy Reiner are seeking to keep the grand jury transcripts sealed to shield them from 'additional trauma'. The Los Angeles gallery held at least two female fans, with no family members present. He denies stabbing Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 70.

He is due in probate court on October 23 to fight for access to a $1.5m family trust.

More than a dozen media organisations have joined forces to push for the records to be made public.

The indictment includes a 'lying in wait' allegation, though prosecutors will not seek death.
