Nigel Farage blames 'staff incompetence' for rows of empty seats as Reform unveils its rival 'teal' Budget in London

Farage admitted Reform has had a "difficult summer" and that the party needs to "energise" voters again, speaking at a Westminster event on Monday afternoon where dozens of seats sat visibly empty behind him. The latest Ipsos poll shows Reform now trailing Labour by 12 points and sitting four points behind second-placed Tories. Farage laughed off the embarrassment on stage, drawing only a smattering of applause and a chuckle from Robert Jenrick.
Reform's Treasury spokesman Robert Jenrick had used the event to unveil 64 job-creating policies ahead of Wednesday's Budget.
Farage insisted he remained 'optimistic', saying voters are 'sitting back on their heels' and the party's job is to 'get them back.'
He suggested a future general election with 'Europe and immigration top of the agenda' could be the thing to revive Reform's fortunes.
