Jonathan Parr, 37, and his girlfriend Jacquelyn Coleman, 32, are charged after nine children aged one to 13 were rescued from a bug-infested Licking County trailer park on Tuesday. Investigators say the children endured hours of standing with nails placed between their toes, were crammed into small dog cages, and suffered abuse spanning three years. Parr was arrested at the property; Coleman was caught during a traffic stop after fleeing the scene when police arrived. Parr has denied the charges in court, saying 'I did not keep anyone in cages... I love my kids.'

Four of the nine children were living in a shed on the property, with others in a mobile home nearby.

Licking County sheriff's investigator Jay Cook said children were made to wall-squat 'all day' — sometimes for no reason at all.
