Nine fired FBI agents who worked on Trump documents probe sue to get their jobs back

Nine FBI agents, intelligence analysts and operational staff dismissed in February over their roles in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents inquiry have filed a federal lawsuit in Washington demanding reinstatement. Their lawyers say the firings were "unlawful acts of political retribution" ordered under FBI Director Kash Patel. The group highlights more than a century of combined service, including responding to the Boston Marathon bombing and investigating the 2024 assassination attempt on Trump himself.

Attorney General Todd Blanche's department is named in the suit, which argues their fate was sealed solely by having worked on the Trump documents investigation.

Lawyers Margaret Donovan, Abbe Lowell and Rebecca Tinio say the dismissals deal an "immeasurable loss" to national security.
