Nine Million Bicycles singer Katie Melua welcomes her second child, a baby boy named Max, and shares the first photo

Katie Melua announced on Instagram on Monday that she and partner Ollie have welcomed Max, their second son together, sharing a photo of herself cradling the newborn outdoors, with Max in a sky-blue hat. The 'Nine Million Bicycles' singer, who kept the birth a surprise, had first told fans she was pregnant back in the summer. She described elder son Sandro, three, as "the best big brother so far."

Melua wrote: 'New arrival… Max is here! So lucky to be mum to two beautiful boys.'

Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Jack Savoretti were among those to send their congratulations on Instagram.

Melua, born in Georgia and raised in Belfast and London, has never publicly revealed who her children's father is.
