'No one is above the law': Ilhan Omar's past quote haunts her after DHS raids her Washington home over immigration fraud probe

Federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security descended on the Washington residence of Minnesota congresswoman Ilhan Omar in the early hours of Monday as part of a criminal fraud investigation into immigration documents submitted on her behalf during her childhood by her now-deceased father. The operation came just three weeks before Omar faces re-election on November 3, breaking an informal Justice Department convention against taking such action within 60 days of an election. Investigators are probing longstanding questions about Omar's 2009 marriage to Ahmed Elmi and whether he is in fact her brother, which if proven could expose her to deportation for immigration fraud.

Social media users were quick to surface Omar's old declaration that 'no one is above the law', made after Trump's hush-money indictment.
