Rabbi Steve Leder, who served as technical adviser on Netflix hit 'Nobody Wants This', has publicly rebuked its star Adam Brody after the actor told GQ magazine he believes Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. Leder posted an Instagram video calling Brody's remarks "truly shocking," "flippant" and "disgusting," insisting there is "no genocide in Gaza." Brody, 46, had said "put me down as thinking it's a genocide" ahead of the show's third season, premiering 22 October.
Leder told Brody: 'You, by your own admission, are a relatively ignorant Jew, and your ignorance really showed.'
Brody, who plays Rabbi Noah Roklov in the show, has admitted he 'barely got bar mitzvahed and retained nothing from it.'
Brody's comments put him alongside Jewish entertainers Hannah Einbinder and Wallace Shawn, who have also used the term genocide for the conflict.
