Noel Gallagher's ex-wife Meg Mathews reveals she secretly had a double mastectomy for breast cancer months before the Oasis reunion

Meg Mathews, who quit drinking in 2017 after battling alcohol and substance dependency, said she never blamed her past lifestyle for her breast cancer diagnosis.

Meg Mathews, 60, was diagnosed with HER2-negative breast cancer in November 2024 after a routine mammogram found three pea-sized lumps behind her left milk glands — in a location she could never have detected herself. She opted for a double mastectomy in March 2025, had her lymph nodes removed, and was told she was cancer-free just eleven days after surgery.

Mathews had kept the diagnosis secret even as she watched daughter Anaïs cheer on Oasis at Cardiff's Principality Stadium just four months after her surgery.

She described the mastectomy decision as 'easy': 'I've had five or six boob jobs since the age of 30 — they didn't feel like mine any more anyway.'

Mathews, who quit drinking in 2017, laughed off any link to her 1990s Britpop lifestyle, saying she had 'never heard of cocaine or ecstasy causing cancer.'
