Norfolk paedophile is jailed after a man found his phone hidden behind bathroom toiletries and footage of herself on it

Gaven Clarke, 41, of Drayton near Norwich, secretly filmed children showering and using the toilet for five years between 2020 and 2025, and was sentenced to three years and eight months at Norwich Crown Court on Thursday. His offending was exposed after one victim checked the hidden phone and found footage of herself, then alerted her parents. Clarke admitted two counts of voyeurism, four counts of making indecent images and three counts of taking indecent images.

When police seized Clarke's devices, they found images of other victims and hundreds of downloaded indecent images — none of the other girls knew they had been filmed.

'Now when I walk into a public toilet I am constantly looking around to check if there are any devices,' one victim said in her statement to the court.

Clarke has been placed on the sex offenders' register for life and is subject to both restraining and Sexual Harm Prevention Orders.
