North Korea fires a volley of missiles hours after Kim Yo Jong rejects talks with 'hostile' US over $6bn Binance hack claims

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff detected several missiles fired from the Sondok area on North Korea's east coast on Wednesday, the fourth weapons launch in a month. Kim Yo Jong dismissed the FBI's accusation that Pyongyang stole $6.3 billion from cryptocurrency exchange Binance as "an extension of Washington's invariable hostile policy," saying Pyongyang had no need to meet "unreliable and hostile persons."
The Binance heist, attributed by the FBI to hacking group TraderTraitor, is the largest cryptocurrency theft on record.
Kim Jong Un separately toured a 10,000-ton cruiser under construction at Nampho Shipyard, calling the vessel "incomparably huge" and ordering shipyard modernisation to "build a powerful navy."
Observers say the missile volleys are designed to pressure Trump into dropping what Pyongyang calls its hostile posture before any revival of Kim-Trump diplomacy.
