'Not a good idea': Kamala Harris warns Democrats against impeaching Trump a third time if they win the House
Kamala Harris has gone public with a call for Democrats to abandon any impeachment push against President Trump should they win back the House in next week's midterm elections, saying the party cannot afford to spend limited resources on a process that would still fall short in the Senate. Speaking to MeidasTouch host Aaron Parnas, she said Democrats should channel their energy into investigations and accountability instead, and pledged to be "uncompromising" on healthcare cuts and the Iran war.
Harris voted to convict Trump in both earlier impeachment trials during her time in the Senate, but argues the numbers have not shifted enough to make a third attempt worthwhile.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has declined to rule out moving against Trump or Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth if Democrats regain the House.
Harris is also said to be considering a 2028 presidential campaign, a prospect that has reportedly thrown senior Democrats and donors into 'panic mode'.
