'Not mastermind criminals': Nottingham Ann Summers burglars wore hi-vis and LEFT DNA at scene
Jason Kamal, 48, has been jailed for three years after he and Ashley Hillsley, 21, forced their way into the Ann Summers store on Long Row, Nottingham at 4.32am, stealing £12,059 worth of lingerie and sex toys. Police arrived within three minutes, catching both men as they fled, and found the stolen items in the boot of Hillsley's car. Although the pair were clearly visible on CCTV throughout the raid, Kamal initially denied ever entering the shop.
Hillsley, who claimed he was bullied into acting as lookout with promises of 'a large sum of money', received a community order with 150 hours of unpaid work.
A second Nottingham burglary, this one at a mobile phone shop, was also pinned on Kamal after he left his DNA on a vape at the scene and was later found using a handset taken from the same store.
Chief Inspector Kylie Davies said the pair were 'not mastermind criminals, quite the opposite, who had no chance whatsoever of getting away with this crime.'
