'Not to my knowledge': Ilhan Omar answers claims she married her brother in her first interview since the federal raid
Ilhan Omar, filming from the back of a car on Tuesday night, appealed to supporters for $5, $10 or $20, warning of "a very expensive and challenging time" after federal agents raided her Washington home.
Pressed by MS NOW host Chris Hayes on any 'weird kernel of truth', Democratic congresswoman Ilhan Omar called the brother claims 'insane'. She said they began on a Somali blog about her ex-husband Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. Homeland Security Investigations agents searched her Washington home on 12 October. Omar now says death threats mean she 'can't continue to live there'.
Agents seized 17 items, including a 1960s camera and a Somali phrase book.
President Donald Trump says of Omar: 'She could also go to jail.'
Omar insists she lives 'paycheck to paycheck' and drives a 2016 Toyota Camry.
