'Nothing like seeing a cult': Trump rally attendee compares the crowd to Jonestown live on Fox News in South Carolina

Tom Hoyle, 57, infiltrated the Trump rally in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and told Fox News correspondent Lucas Tomlinson live on air that he attended because he missed Jonestown. Tomlinson had expected a supportive answer from the crowd gathered to hear Trump stump for Darline Graham, the late Senator Lindsey Graham's sister, who faces Democrat Annie Andrews in Tuesday's election.

Hoyle told Tomlinson he was 'a little too young' to join the Jonestown cult in 1978, when Jim Jones ordered the mass suicide of over 900 followers.

A stunned Tomlinson asked Hoyle to clarify before he replied, 'There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front, man.'

The clip went viral, overshadowing a rally that Republicans privately reportedly called 'a f—ing train wreck' amid fears Graham is losing ground to Andrews.
