Nottingham Ann Summers burglars caught on CCTV in hi-vis jackets were 'not mastermind criminals', police say
Jason Kamal, 48, and Ashley Hillsley, 21, broke a window to burgle the Ann Summers store on Long Row, Nottingham, at 4.32am on August 14, making off with £12,059 in lingerie and sex toys. Nottinghamshire Police were on the scene within three minutes, arresting both men as they ran, and recovered all stolen items from the boot of Hillsley's car.
Kamal was jailed for three years at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday; Hillsley, who claimed he was 'bullied' into acting as lookout, received a community order.
Kamal had left a vape with his DNA 'all over it' at a separate phone shop burglary in Arnold — and was carrying a phone stolen from the same store.
Hillsley was told the job would net him enough money to mean he would no longer be 'a nobody'.
