Number of UK Isa millionaires surges 52% in a year to a record 7,730 as top pots hit £12m
Britain's 7,730 Isa millionaires — a record high — all built their seven-figure portfolios through stocks and shares, not cash savings.
The UK's Isa millionaire population has hit a record 7,730, up more than 50% in a single year, according to HMRC data released under Freedom of Information requests. The 2,660 new entrants to the club represent the largest annual increase since records began in 2016, when just 450 people held seven-figure Isa pots.
Together, UK Isa millionaires hold over £10 billion in tax-free wealth — all built through stocks and shares rather than cash savings.
The surge coincides with ministers' plans to cut the cash Isa allowance from £20,000 to £12,000 and bring pensions within inheritance tax from April 2027.
