NYPD officer shoots knife-wielding woman inside a Queens home after three men are stabbed during a reported home invasion

From a second-floor window, an injured man called out that his uncle had attacked him with a knife and was preventing him from getting downstairs. A woman on the third floor tossed her keys down to let officers into the house on 149th Street in South Ozone Park. Inside, police discovered a woman and two men on a bedroom floor in a struggle. NYPD Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera said she disregarded officers' commands and advanced toward them carrying a knife.

She was shot at close range, then Tasered, and is in stable condition in hospital.

All three men were hospitalised with stab wounds, and police recovered two knives at the scene.

Authorities have yet to say what led to the stabbings.
