Ocasio-Cortez makes $1 million donation to El-Sayed's Michigan Senate bid as Vance attacks intensify

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has donated $1 million in campaign funds to Abdul El-Sayed's Michigan Senate race, saying she refuses to wake up on 4 November wishing she had done more. The New York congresswoman stressed the money came from her more than two million donors rather than her personal wealth. El-Sayed is given a 68 per cent chance of winning the seat against Republican Mike Rogers, according to forecaster Decision Desk HQ.

Ocasio-Cortez declared 'It is not MY contribution — it is OUR contribution' in a fundraising email backing El-Sayed's campaign.

Vance has been attacking El-Sayed on the trail, calling him a 'weasel' — a jab El-Sayed turned into a rallying cry at his own Michigan events.
