Ofcom probes Channel 5 drama after disgraced Huw Edwards complains it was 'wholly misleading and unfair'

Huw Edwards, 65, admitted making indecent images of children in 2024, including seven category A pictures, and escaped jail with a suspended six-month sentence. Now the former newsreader insists he was denied a fair chance to answer the 'inaccuracies and fabrications' in the Martin Clunes drama. The regulator is examining his fairness and privacy complaint. Channel 5 has vowed to defend the show 'robustly'.

'Power: The Downfall Of Huw Edwards' drew 3.8 million viewers, Channel 5's top show this year.

Channel 5 says it drew on interviews with the victim, his family and court reporting.

Edwards urged Ofcom to act 'free from intimidation from hostile parts of the press'.
