Ohio's Republican governor Mike DeWine urges Vivek Ramaswamy to pull 'deeply troubling' ad featuring rival's estranged mother

Mike DeWine described the spot as 'just more wrong' once voters learn its context, but stopped short of withdrawing his endorsement: 'I endorse the whole ticket.' The ad features Donna Arthur calling her daughter, Democrat Amy Acton, a 'liar'. Arthur remained with Acton's stepfather following his charge of sexually abusing Acton at age 12. Sabato's Crystal Ball has since moved the race in Acton's favour.

Amy Acton called the ad 'despicable', saying: 'My mother is not well.'

Vice President JD Vance defended Ramaswamy, slamming Republican 'whining' over the spot.

Ramaswamy's campaign is reportedly spending $4 million statewide and says Arthur was not paid.
