'One conversation can change everything': Prince William marks World Mental Health Day with suicide prevention launch

Prince William marked World Mental Health Day by urging people to check on loved ones they fear are struggling, warning that around 20 people die by suicide every day in the UK. The Prince of Wales launched On Your Side, a Royal Foundation toolkit providing practical advice on supporting those at risk in sporting environments. He and Princess Catherine attended Everton's ground in Liverpool for the launch.
William's National Suicide Prevention Network, launched a year ago, has already supported more than 500 people and delivered over 3,000 interventions across the UK.
The On Your Side toolkit directly challenges the myth that talking about suicide encourages it, saying it instead helps people feel heard and more willing to seek help.
The Prince's X post, signed simply 'W', was accompanied by a video of imagined voicemails from people reaching out to friends, voiced by partners including Hub of Hope and James' Place.
