A single ticket-holder matched all six numbers in Saturday night's National Lottery Lotto draw to claim the £5.8 million jackpot, while three further players won £1 million each after matching five numbers and the Bonus Ball. The win is the third jackpot recorded in September alone, following a £12 million payout on 12 September and a £7.8 million win three days before that. Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at Allwyn, urged players to check their tickets.

Saturday's winning numbers were 22, 27, 38, 42, 47 and 59, with a Bonus Ball of 31.

September has now produced three jackpot winners in under three weeks, making it an unusually lucrative month for Lotto players.

No one matched all five numbers in HotPicks to claim the £175,000 top prize, and the £500,000 Thunderball jackpot also went unclaimed.
