One person is seriously injured in a three-vehicle M25 rush-hour crash in Surrey that shut the motorway for hours

Two cars and a van crashed just after 8.30am on the clockwise M25 between junction five for the M26 and junction six at Godstone. Four people were injured, three of whom were taken to hospital. A full closure was put in place at junction five due to debris and an oil spill, with queues stretching back to junction four and a diversion running through Sevenoaks.

Members of the public gave first aid at the scene before crews arrived.

Only two of the four lanes had reopened by 1.30pm, with clean-up still under way.

Surrey Police are appealing for footage of the crash and the moments before it.
