Original Bigfoot footage is exposed as a hoax after a 'rehearsal' clip from 1966 is unearthed in a new documentary film

A secret canister of 16mm film, locked in a safe for decades, appears to show a test run of the famous 1967 Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot footage — shot a full year before the clip that convinced millions. Teresa Brooks, daughter of Boeing film department worker Norm Johnson, discovered the reel in 2017, and it features an ape-like figure walking through forest and glancing over its right shoulder in a near-identical manner to the 1967 film. The documentary 'Capturing Bigfoot', due in cinemas and on Prime Video on October 20, is set to present the footage publicly for the first time.

Both films were shot on the same K-100 Kodak camera, leaving matching edge codes that experts say prove a direct link.

Separately, a retired police officer has analysed 5,834 Bigfoot reports across 14 states, finding a pattern of nocturnal urban incursions up to a mile into towns.
