Two Jewish newspapers warn the Supreme Court that lifting the Palestine Action ban next week would do 'catastrophic harm' to Britain

The Jewish Chronicle and Jewish News have published a rare joint editorial urging the Supreme Court to uphold the proscription of Palestine Action ahead of a ruling expected next week on the group's legal challenge. Security experts warn that overturning the ban could 'open the floodgates' for Hamas, Islamic State and al-Qaeda to seek deproscription on human rights grounds. The editorial directly rejects claims that Palestine Action is non-violent, pointing to hundreds of attacks causing millions of pounds in damage.
Sergeant Kate Evans suffered a fractured spine after a Palestine Action member struck her with a sledgehammer at an Elbit Systems factory near Bristol in August 2024.
The group's targets have included Jewish charities in Hendon, Jewish-owned businesses in Hampstead, and a Stamford Hill property firm it accused of links to an Israeli defence company.
