Nancy Mace's ex-fiancé and two associates are charged with sex crimes she exposed in dramatic House floor speech

John Douglas Osborne, 46, faces two counts of criminal sexual conduct and first-degree assault and battery after allegedly raping an unconscious 23-year-old woman at a Sullivan's Island home in October 2018 while Bryant, 53, and Eric Bernard Bowman, 46, watched, discussed the assault in advance, and filmed it. South Carolina's State Law Enforcement Division announced charges against all three men on Wednesday, close to eight years on from the attack. Mace publicly identified all three in a House floor speech lasting nearly an hour in February 2026, after she says she found evidence on Bryant's phone — a speech Bryant subsequently attempted to suppress by filing a defamation lawsuit against her.
Mace said she 'accidentally uncovered' evidence of 'rape, nonconsensual photos and videos of women and underage girls' in her district.
A witness who happened to be watching a security camera feed saw the assault live and recorded it in a journal — key evidence for prosecutors.
Bowman faces an additional charge of disclosing the identity of a criminal sexual conduct victim; a fourth man Mace named in her speech has not been charged.
