Paedophile who hid cameras to film young girls showering is jailed after a victim found the phone behind toiletries

Gaven Clarke, 41, of Drayton, near Norwich, spent five years between 2020 and 2025 covertly filming young girls in bathrooms, building up a collection of videos and photographs of children in the shower and on the toilet. The crimes were uncovered when one of his victims found the concealed device and saw footage of herself on it. Norwich Crown Court sentenced him on Thursday to three years and eight months.

Clarke pleaded guilty to two counts of voyeurism, four counts of making indecent images of children, and three counts of taking indecent images.

A police examination of his devices revealed additional victims and hundreds of downloaded indecent images — none of the girls had been aware they were being recorded.

Clarke has been placed on the sex offenders' register for life and is subject to both restraining and Sexual Harm Prevention Orders.
