Harry and Meghan are cheered by crowds in Nottingham on their first joint outing since returning to the UK

Meghan declared "I have to go see my ladies first" as she made a beeline for the four Grenfell survivors featured in her cookbook, walking past food demonstrations at Nottingham charity Himmah Hub to kiss, hug and hold hands with them. The emotional reunion came during the Sussexes' first joint public engagement since returning to the UK after six years in California. Harry and Meghan had earlier greeted crowds outside the Community Recording Studio — the same location as their very first joint outing in 2017 — with Meghan telling well-wishers "it's great to be back."

Ninety-year-old Irene Hardman showed Meghan a framed photo of their 2017 Nottingham visit; Meghan replied: "This was our very first walkabout."

Harry placed a protective arm around Meghan throughout the day, with body language expert Judi James saying the couple were "clinging together as survivors."

A superfan named Angelina revealed she received a handwritten, calligraphy invitation from Meghan personally to attend the engagements.
