Darren Scotchbrook, the long-term partner of convicted child abuser Sally-Anne Bowen, allegedly sent threatening and racially aggravated emails to Detective Sergeant Terry Mulcahy, the lead investigator on Bowen's case. The messages were sent just weeks before Scotchbrook took the witness stand in her defence, where he gave the jury explicit details about their sexual relationship. Bowen, 65, was found guilty on Thursday of seven counts of indecent assault against two teenage boys at Christ's College in Finchley, north London in the late 1980s. Scotchbrook is expected in court next month and faces a separate harassment trial involving four victims.

One victim told the jury he had sex with Bowen 'about 20 or 30 times' over several months and had fallen in love with her.

Scotchbrook is also accused of racially aggravated harassment, allegedly showing hostility towards Pakistani people in the emails to the detective.

Separately, former Aberdeen music teacher Peter Parfitt was struck off by the General Teaching Council for Scotland over sexually motivated conduct towards pupils, despite being cleared in court in 2023.
