Rachel Danis, the fertility doctor who married Patrick Clancy in April, is already pregnant with their first child together — confirmed by their CBS interviewer Ross Douthat the morning after the couple's '60 Minutes' appearance, in which they had been deliberately vague, saying only they were 'starting a family'. Clancy, 36, gave his first national interview since the mistrial of his ex-wife Lindsay, whose trial for strangling their three children ended 11-1 in favour of acquittal on grounds of postpartum psychosis. Danis, 37, learned of the children's deaths on their first date, when she spotted them as the wallpaper on Patrick's phone and asked, 'Who are those cuties?'
Lindsay told Patrick the killings felt 'like a dream' — 'she remembered it much in the way you would remember a dream after waking up.'
Baby Callan survived four days after his siblings Cora and Dawson were pronounced dead; Patrick held him and said 'I'm so sorry' as he died in his arms.
A retrial hearing is set for 29 September, when prosecutors could seek a new trial, a plea deal, or drop the case entirely.
