Paul Ferris, the gangster turned author, is laid to rest in Glasgow with 'Legend' spelled out in flowers on his coffin

A piper led Paul Ferris's cortege into Daldowie Crematorium on Monday, with his coffin also bearing the word 'Dad'. Scottish actor Paul Brannigan and former boxing champion Alex Arthur joined the mourners. Ferris, 62, died earlier this month at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after a short illness. Tom Petty's 'I Won't Back Down' was among the songs played at the service.
Ferris was cleared of the 1991 murder of Arthur 'Fat Boy' Thompson Jr.
His ex-wife paid tribute: 'You are finally free of your demons.'
His memoir 'The Ferris Conspiracy', written in jail, inspired the film 'The Wee Man'.
