Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, of Towanda, Pennsylvania, faces two counts of criminal homicide after allegedly stabbing her husband Charles and their three-year-old son Tristan in the chest inside their Great Wolf Lodge hotel room in Scotrun on Monday. Relatives told investigators she had drained Charles's retirement account to fund an unusually long three-week stay at the resort, presented as an early Christmas gift, before officers found her at the door with self-inflicted wounds saying she wanted to die. A search warrant shows investigators removed four journals, financial records and ten knives from the family home, where a shut-off notice for an unpaid £30 electricity bill was taped to the front door.

Harrison told ambulance crews: 'It wasn't supposed to end like this — I was supposed to have my happy family.'

Family members told investigators Harrison was 'dominant, controlling' and resented Tristan for stealing one-on-one time with her husband.

When officers arrived, Harrison reportedly said she was 'suicidal, not stupid' and refused to answer further questions.
