Penny Lancaster appeared on ITV's Loose Women to reveal that her husband Sir Rod Stewart, 81, is hitting the gym three days a week and has his sights set on a full tour in 2027, even after last month's coronary stent procedure forced him to abandon his US run. Lancaster, 55, said the rock legend retains the same "voracious energy" he has always had, though doctors ordered him to step back from the US dates given the physical toll of his nearly two-hour sets. She had earlier assured fans he would "come back stronger than ever" following the surgery. Stewart cancelled shows in Ohio, Illinois, Mexico and a six-night Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace while recuperating.
Lancaster told the panel: 'He's still looking at the tour he's got next year, he's still recording new music.'
Stewart had already postponed Cincinnati and Cleveland dates before the surgery, and a sinus infection had wiped out several shows in May and June.
Lancaster said she and Rod needed to walk doctors through his stage routine — two hours of performing with four costume changes.
