Pentagon releases sixth UFO file batch revealing 1952 Navy footage and 480mph orbs over the Middle East

From the Newshound archive · first published 19 September 2026.

The Pentagon has published its sixth tranche of declassified UFO files, including footage shot by Navy warrant officer Newhouse during a 1952 family holiday in Tremonton, Utah, showing ten to fourteen bright metallic objects moving in a loose circle. The batch also contains newly released military footage of glowing orbs travelling at 480mph in a near-perfect horizontal formation past an oil rig over the Middle East before splitting into groups of three. Project Blue Book studied Newhouse's film for months and never explained what he had captured.

Newhouse said the objects had the classic 'flying saucer' profile — one disc set atop another — and a shiny gunmetal colour.

The files also reveal that billionaire Robert Bigelow's private company was contracted by the Pentagon's Defense Intelligence Agency to investigate UFO phenomena and advanced technology concepts.

The 1952 Tremonton footage went unexplained for over 70 years, and the new Middle East orb cluster, recorded by US military aircraft in 2025, remains similarly unidentified.
