Pentagon's sixth UFO file drop reveals $22m secret military warp-drive programme and 1952 'flying saucer' footage

The Pentagon has published its sixth and largest declassified UFO document release, comprising 71 files. Among them are previously unpublished details of a secretive Defence Intelligence Agency programme that commissioned research into warp drives, wormholes, antigravity, and injuries arising from what may have been encounters with unidentified craft. The Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program ran from 2008 to 2012 and cost nearly $22 million. Also newly digitised in 4K is Navy Chief Warrant Officer Delbert C. Newhouse's celebrated 1952 Utah footage, capturing ten to fourteen luminous objects that Newhouse described as "two discs stacked on top of each other" — shapes that Project Blue Book investigators were never able to identify. Critics have dismissed the release as underwhelming, with some images showing little more than specks of light.
The 71 files span documents from 1952 to 2025 and include 37 research papers whose subjects range from wormholes to propulsion exploiting negative mass and technologies for rendering objects invisible.
The newly released material also includes footage, recorded by US military aircraft over a Middle East oil rig in 2025, of a densely packed formation of glowing orbs.
Detractors, among them online commenters, have ridiculed the release as the 'worst yet', with one image likened to a 'potato in the sky'.
