Sacked US ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle begged Pete Hegseth and Rupert Murdoch to rescue her Greece posting

Guilfoyle reportedly phoned Murdoch in a bid to get the damaging stories about her removed, without success. She also asked Hegseth and Tom Barrack, the US ambassador to Turkey, to lobby President Donald Trump for her, but was stonewalled. One official said she was 'spiraling', telling people 'Maybe I don't resign'. She was ousted after claims she pressed a MAGA donor to help clear a $100,000 credit card bill in exchange for administration access.

Guilfoyle, 57, has until the end of October to leave her State Department home in Athens.

She also faces a probe into a toxic workplace and off-the-books work on the residence.

An insider in Greece said she is 'all alone in that house, screaming at her old staff that they are leakers'.
