Peter Phillips's wife Harriet says she turns to 'open-hearted' Kate for advice in her first interview since the wedding
Harriet Sperling, the 46-year-old former NHS nurse who married Peter Phillips in a Cotswolds ceremony on 6 June, has given her first interview since the wedding, revealing she first bonded with William and Kate on a casual Scilly Isles holiday where the children swam together. She described Catherine as "very open-hearted" and said she would "always feel comfortable" asking her for guidance on royal life.
Harriet met Princess Anne for the first time on garden benches over cups of tea at Gatcombe Park, calling it "very relaxed."
She praised Anne's "tireless attention to local charities" and said the Princess Royal is "so well-respected in the family."
Peter proposed with a Pragnell diamond ring on 25 July 2025 during a beach heatwave — Harriet said she was "completely overcome."
