Philippine anti-child-abuse taskforce in Cebu investigates Meghan's father Thomas Markle, who calls son's claims 'sick lies'
Nicholas Ty, undersecretary at the Philippine Department of Justice, confirmed a specialist unit tackling online child exploitation has taken up the case. Thomas Markle Jr, 60, gave police four boxes he alleges hold 'hundreds, if not thousands' of abuse images. The FBI has offered to support Philippine investigators. Thomas Markle Sr, 82, denies the claims and says his son is 'trying to destroy' him.
Meghan says a 2018 letter to the Met made 'disturbing allegations' about her father.
The Met says it never investigated him and is now making internal enquiries.
Markle Jnr: 'I won't speak to my father ever again unless I'm called to give evidence.'
