Philippine police find child abuse videos on devices said to belong to Thomas Markle, who denies all allegations
Meghan Markle, pictured with Thomas Markle Sr., 82, whose move to a Florida dementia care facility has raised fears that federal agents may be unable to question him.Seized devices examined by Philippine National Police officers in Cebu City, as investigators said a video recovered from Thomas Markle Sr.'s former home depicted children of Asian and Caucasian backgrounds engaged in sexual acts.
Philippine National Police Major General Wilson Asueta confirmed at a Tuesday press conference that forensic examination of nine mobile phones, five hard drives, three SD cards and other devices found in Thomas Markle Sr's Cebu City flat had uncovered videos showing Asian and Caucasian male and female minors performing sexual acts. Investigators are still working to establish who owns the devices and whether the 82-year-old Duchess of Sussex's father appears in any of the footage. Asueta said the probe is "going in the right direction" and that formal charges are "very close."
The devices were handed to police by Markle's son Thomas Jr, 60, who said he found 'hundreds, if not thousands' of abuse images and vowed never to speak to his father again.
The FBI has confirmed it is working alongside Philippine authorities; a separate Mexican probe is under way after a raid on a storage unit linked to Markle near Rosarito Beach.
Markle, now in a Florida dementia care home, lost his left leg to amputation following a stroke and has rejected every allegation made against him.
