Pipe bomb explodes at north Belfast home in 'reckless and dangerous attack' leaving community 'in shock'

A suspected pipe bomb detonated at a property on Stanhope Street in the Carrick Hill area of north Belfast in the early hours of Friday, triggering a major security alert. The PSNI evacuated nearby residents, set up cordons, and urged both pedestrians and drivers to avoid the area. No injuries have been reported.

JJ Magee, a Sinn Féin councillor, condemned the attack as "reckless and dangerous" and demanded that those responsible cease immediately.

The PSNI has launched an investigation into the incident and said it will release further updates as enquiries continue.

A door at the property was visibly damaged, and the overnight attack has left the local community in 'shock'.
